Summer Summary
This internship is a time to learn and evaluate a 1 billion dollar a year industry-The Child Sex trade. This trade is recruiting at least 1 million children a year and growing. The pedophiles and sadists involved in this industry breed upon those in poverty, those regarded as second class citizens, the uneducated, the weak, and the vulnerable; hence most of those in this industry are women and children. This problem is spreading like wildfire, and Remember Nhu is a nonprofit organization that is committed to stopping the spread of this trade globally, by providing homes, micro enterprise opportunities, and education for children and teens at-risk of such oppression. Currently R-NHU is in Asia but looking to move into Africa. That’s where YOU come in. This summer you will be working for S.H.I.N.E. Productions creating a multi media campaign that will be the next phase of Remember NHU-Africa, but in order for us to dream about Africa we must first see R-Nhu’s models at work in Asia, hence the internship kick off missions trip to Thailand and Cambodia!
Missions Trip Summary
We will visit a Buddhist temple, work in children’s homes, see the poverty in the Hill Tribe villages, have an authentic Thai dinner, see the night street markets, take a cross country train ride. Visit Cambodia, visit the orphanages, have discussions with indigenous leaders and missionaries working to keep children out of the sex trade, and see micro enterprise businesses providing young teens alternate economic opportunities. Hopefully, we will gain a vision for the current issues in Thailand and Cambodia, embrace the culture, learn how the sex trade is progressing, see solutions & models at work, and dream about preventing child trafficking in the next booming continent of Africa.
Upon your return you will be given African pictures, video footage, sounds, facts, and a general story board that you and your team will be responsible for editing, molding, brainstorming and forming into a multimedia campaign for R-NHU Africa that will be launched as a preview tour the end of July 08 and launched full force Sept. 08. download-application-here-now.pdfdownload-application-here-now.pdf

The plight of the poor is on the hearts of the students and admin at Nyack College. It was great getting to know Sara, Scott, Danny, Holly, Lacy, Kwammee, Dennis, and Belinda….and the others who were so gracious during our time there. I pray God would use this school, that I graduated from, to be agents of change in the world and in evangelical Christianity as we know it. Get ready God is, and will continue to use you! Thanks Wanda and the spiritual formation department for bringing us out…much love to you all.
P.S. The Uganda Trip and the Justice project info is being refined and will be on it’s way in a week!!

My name is Mario Pons. I am 17 years old and I am part of the Christian Missionary Alliance. Coffee and Conversations is a wonderful event. Through this event I learned about what’s going on around the world. Coffee and Conversations has provided plenty of information about Thailand and about Africa. Viewing the pictures and watching the videos has gotten me to the point where I feel like God is calling me to do something about it. I (being a youngster) found the pictures and videos totally appropriate. There is no other way to sugar coat the reality of the sin in this world. It catches the youth attention when reality is given to us in a video or either an image, because we do not see these things happening in the states. I believe all the youth (that are Christians) should be aware of what’s going on around the world. We are a chosen generation, and we are capable with the spirit of God to make a difference and to change the world. I praise the Lord for Coffee and Conversations. We all need to be informing of what’s going on. I’m really glad that this ministry is moving forward and touching the youth’s lives. God bless you all!!!!

Driving a big trailer is not my thing!! I found that out as we made our way to Clarksville, TN, Crossroads Chuch our 2nd stop in the C&C tour. Thank God my husband was the main driver!! We pulled up and were met by Larry the cable guy, at least that was his nick name!! He helped us unload and “get er dun.”
We had a great time in TN and we saw God move in many lives especilly on girl who I’d like to share her words with you in this post, please read below:
Subject:: Crossroads
Message:: Thanks very much for stoppin by and doing what you guys
did!!! It did move people…especially me…what can I do…I feel I
was told something but in a way I don’t know exactly how to.This was a
great experience for me and I know it was for everyone else. As you
guys said …if you don’t go and tell than nothing will be spread
…no one will know whats happening…I didn’t know until you came in
and told me.
Im only 15 and I understand where everything is coming from. I could
be in that situation and I’m glad that im not. Ihave to give to help, I have to inform more of whats happening, I have to inspire others, and I have to get involved.
As I know now what life is like in the world and what God is doing
about it, I’m glad I’m a Christian and Im trying to work toward getting
involved and helping others in time of need. I’m trying to overcome
shyness and everything and I believe that what you guys did will
motivate me to become better. Thanks very much…keep up the GREAT
work.
This is what it is all about!! Keep praying for us as we continue the ministry of informing, inspiring, and involving! Also pray that God would continue to touch the next generation of ministers for the next generation of ministry!

Hey ya’ll glad you could make it to the C&C site. Booking is going great and we just did our first date at Concordia University. It was awesome.

I was able to hear the heart of this generation clearly. In fact, one girl said “We are a generation with an engine and gas, but no wheels.” Humm…I said, ” So you have the Holy Spirit, the gas, and you have the power, the engine, but you are unable to be mobalized without wheels.” She jumped in sheer joy as if I had connnected her abstract thoughts. That is what this tour is all about, bringing God thoughts into focus, and bringing God passions into movement! Let me know your thoughts!
By the way our next stop is Clarksville, TN at Crossroads church….can’t wait to see how God moves there!
